Xavier Samuel joins the cast of Twilight Saga: Eclipse

It’s official, the Australian actor Xavier Samuel have joined the cast of the third installment to the Twilight Saga, Eclipse. He was reported to play the role of Riley, a newborn vampire who joins the group of newborns created by Victoria to kill Bella. You will be able to see Riley in action when you Watch Twilight Saga: Eclipse Online after it’s release on June 30, 2010.

Samuel grew up in Adelaide, South Australia and graduated from Rostrevor College in 2001. Despite completing his senior secondary years at Rostrevor College he undertook final year drama at Christian Brothers College under the tutelage of Amanda Portus and her ‘Company of Muses’. It is also interesting to note Xavier’s father Clifford Samuel was head of the English department, year 12 coordinator, and tireless supporter of CBC’s Drama Department and it’s residing company. During the same year, he played the part of Tom Snout (the wall) in Rostrevor College’s production of William Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream as well as playing the part of Belvile in CBC’s production of Aphra Behn’s The Rover (The Banished Cavaliers). He attended Flinders University Drama Centre in 2005 where he played Hamlet in the graduate production. During his time at university he was the lead singer of Adelaide band, Hyatus (formerly Degrees of Freedom). Xavier was recruited into the band by its bass player Kelstar who performed with him in the Banished Cavaliers. Xavier ultimately left Hyatus to pursue his film career.

Riley of Twilight Saga: Eclipse:

As a vampire, Riley is tall and muscular with bright red eyes and blond hair. Victoria bites and changes Riley when he is approximately Bella’s age in Eclipse. Once Riley ages and gains some control, he helps to lead Victoria’s army of newborn vampires. He performs his work faithfully because of his love for Victoria, which she pretends to return. However, in a battle between the army of newborns and the Cullens at the end of Eclipse, Edward voices Riley’s concern that Victoria has been lying to him. Edward first tries to convince Riley to stop fighting, but finally kills him with the help of Seth Clearwater.

Watch Eclipse Online to see Xavier Samuel as Riley on action on June 30, 2010. Twilight Saga: Eclipse focuses on the decision of Bella on who she will finally choose, Jacob the werewolf or Edward the vampire. I for one am excited to see how the Twilight Saga: Eclipse Movie Trailer will look like once it airs online for the first time. Yey!
