Screenplay of Eclipse Leaked Online!

The screenplay of the third installment of the Twilight Saga, Eclipse, has been leaked online. The copy by actor Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale in the film, is now found in the internet and is available for download.

The authenticity of the 112 page script has been questioned, but the script’s pages are watermarked with Rathbone’s name. Scripts are marked with their names on to help them keep track of their copy. But both Deadline Hollywood and EW.com confirmed that the PDF file of the leaked script is real.

Summit Entertainment, the film’s distributor, downplayed the whole incident. They said that the script found online is just a “blue script”, an earlier draft of the screenplay that was likely not the final script that will be shot. They said that it is not the final version that was used by Eclipse director, David Slade. Summit has not given any further information regarding the leak, how the script was lost in the first place or how anyone got their hands on the script.

But this isn’t the first time that a copy a “Twilight” script has been lost. Last year, Anna Kendrick’s copy of New Moon has been found by a salon owner in a trash can outside the hotel in St. Louis where she was staying while filming the movie for her role in Up in the Air with George Clooney. But the good thing was the salon owner who found the script returned it to the producer, without revealing any of its contents.

But does it really matter? Really? The Twihards will still Watch Twilight Saga: Eclipse Online. New Moon has raked in over $685 million on the box office worldwide despite bad reviews. Scripts get leak all the time and it usually doesn’t affect the box office potential. It is not the same as X-Men Origins: Wolverine where the whole movie was leaked.

Recently, the film has also been on the spotlight. There are talks around the internet Eclipse has been previewed for a test audience in the US. But Gossip Cop has confirmed that Summit Entertainment has not shown the movie.

But regardless of this bad news, Eclipse will surely be a huge hit in the box office. Unless all the girls will just instantly die… or move on to other things to crave on. The movie is set to be released in theaters on June 30, 2010.
